MEET LISA HUGO
For more than two decades, I've helped executives, entrepreneurs and experts communicate their ideas with greater clarity, confidence and impact.
And along the way, I discovered something important.
Being exceptional at what you do isn't enough if the right people never get the opportunity to experience it.
That's what led me from communication into the world of marketing, webinars and client acquisition.
Today, I bring those two worlds together. I help coaches, consultants and experts turn what they know into a compelling message, that message into a webinar, and that webinar into a system designed to attract, educate and convert the right clients.
Because great marketing shouldn't require you to become someone you're not.
It should give more people the opportunity to discover why you're worth listening to in the first place.

BEFORE THE FUNNELS
Long before I was thinking about webinar funnels, CRM systems or paid advertising, I was thinking about communication.
Why does one person walk onto a stage and immediately command attention while another struggles to connect?
Why can two people communicate exactly the same idea, yet one makes us care and the other doesn't?
Why do some presentations change minds while others are forgotten before we've even left the room?
Those questions have shaped my career.
I've spent more than two decades working with executives, entrepreneurs and professionals to help them communicate with greater clarity, confidence and influence.
But eventually, those same questions led me somewhere else.
Marketing.
Because if communication can influence what happens after someone starts listening, marketing determines whether they start listening at all.
THEN I BECAME THE CLIENT
Like many coaches and consultants, I discovered that being good at what you do doesn't automatically create a predictable pipeline of clients.
You can have experience.
Qualifications.
A methodology that works.
Clients who value what you do.
And still face the same question every month:
Where are the next clients coming from?
That's a very different skill.
So we started building systems.
Landing pages. Webinars. Email automation. CRM. Paid advertising. Content. Tracking.
Some things worked. Some things didn't.
And we learned something important along the way:
No single marketing tactic solves the problem.
The breakthrough comes when the pieces begin working together.
HOW I GOT HERE
For most of my time in Dubai, I worked as a voice coach, helping singers and executives improve their vocal and public speaking skills.
I had my own coaching studio in Downtown Dubai, with a pretty spectacular view of the Burj Khalifa.
And I was busy.
I mean, really busy.
I was often working 12 to 14 hours a day, six days a week.
Then, in early 2020, COVID hit.
The world went into lockdown and, almost overnight, I had to close the doors to my in-person coaching studio.
Suddenly, I had a problem I'd never really had to solve before.
How do I take what I know and build a business around it online?

I'd already created a self-guided course, but I had absolutely no idea how to market it.
Platforms like Udemy didn't make sense for what I wanted to build. I could create a programme worth $497, only to find it being promoted for $19.
I knew there had to be a better way.

Around the same time, an event for entrepreneurs called Cha-Ching 3.0 was being held in Dubai. One of the keynote speakers was Les Brown, so I wanted to go.
I dragged my husband along with me.
By the end of the weekend, we'd signed up for several coaching programmes and spent roughly the equivalent of a new car on our own development.
One of those programmes was with Jon Penberthy, who remains one of my mentors today.
And that's where I discovered webinars.
Suddenly, I had a vehicle for turning my expertise into something I could sell online.
My first webinar was far from perfect.
Almost 400 people registered through paid advertising.
Then, about five minutes after I started presenting, my internet connection dropped.
And I almost lost all of them.
I managed to get a fraction of the audience back and somehow carried on.
Over the next 90 minutes, I sold four programmes at $497 each.
Was it a flawless launch?
Absolutely not.
But to me, it was incredible.

Because despite the technical disaster, people who had never worked with me before had watched me teach, understood the value of what I could help them with and decided to buy.

That was the proof I needed.
Webinars worked.
And from that point, I became fascinated by what was happening around the presentation.
How did we attract the right people? How did we get them to register? How did we get them to actually show up? What made them stay? What made them buy? What happened after the webinar? How could we automate it? How could we track it? How could we make the whole system work better?
That curiosity led me much deeper into digital marketing.
Since then, I've worked with and learned from mentors including Jon Penberthy, Dan Henry, Taki Moore, Kane and Alessia Minkus, and John Lee.
I've invested somewhere around $150,000 in my own development, much of it specifically in digital marketing, client acquisition and building online businesses.
Not because I wanted to become a "marketing guru."
But because continuous development has always been one of my mantras.
And because I needed to solve the same problem that so many coaches, consultants and experts face today:
How do you take something you're genuinely good at and get enough of the right people to experience it?
For me, webinars became a big part of the answer. And they still are!
Today, much of what I've learned through that journey forms the foundation of the Influential Voice Accelerator.
I also regularly share what I've learned about webinars, digital marketing and client acquisition on YouTube.
WHERE EVERYTHING CAME TOGETHER
Webinars made immediate sense to me.
Because unlike most marketing, a webinar gives an expert something incredibly valuable:
Time.
Time to explain. Time to teach. Time to challenge assumptions. Time to demonstrate expertise. Time to build trust. Time to help someone understand why their current approach isn't working. And time to show them another way.
Everything I'd spent years learning about communication suddenly had a direct role inside a client acquisition system.
But there was another side to it.
The webinar needed traffic. The traffic needed a registration page. Registrants needed reminders. Viewers needed follow-up. Interested prospects needed a next step. Sales conversations needed a process. Data needed tracking.
The presentation needed a webinar funnel and client acquisition system around it.
That's where the two worlds came together.

SYSTEM + MESSAGE = CLIENT ACQUISITION
A webinar-led client acquisition system needs both.
A brilliant presentation nobody sees doesn't generate clients.
A brilliant funnel sending hundreds of people to a weak presentation doesn't either.
The system gets people into the room.
The message makes them want to stay.
And when both work together, your expertise becomes something much more powerful
A scalable client acquisition asset.
STAY THE EXPERT
If you're a coach, consultant or expert, I don't believe your goal should be to spend your life studying funnels.
You shouldn't need to become obsessed with every algorithm change.
Or learn every new marketing tool.
Or spend half your week creating content just to remain visible.
Marketing should support your expertise.
Not replace it.
That's why the systems we build start with what makes your business valuable:
What you know.
We turn that knowledge into a message.
The message into a webinar.
The webinar into a funnel.
And the funnel into a system capable of reaching people beyond your immediate network.
ONE SKILL. TWO APPLICATIONS.
Today, my work has two distinct applications.
I work with executives, leaders and organisations who want to communicate with greater confidence, authority and impact.
From high-stakes presentations and executive presence to leadership communication and speaking.
I work with coaches, consultants and experts who want to turn their knowledge into a webinar-led client acquisition system.
From message and presentation to funnel, traffic and conversion.
Different objectives. Same fundamental principle.
Your ability to communicate your value changes what happens next.
BEHIND THE PERSONAL BRAND
A webinar-led client acquisition system requires more than communication expertise.
It needs strategy, technology, automation, paid media, tracking and implementation.
That's why the infrastructure behind our Done-For-You work is delivered through Audacia Marketing, the marketing business I co-founded.
Audacia brings together the technical and marketing capability required to turn strategy into a working system.

A FEW THINGS I'VE LEARNED

Anyone can call themselves an expert. Give people enough value to decide for themselves.

If someone doesn't understand what you do, more marketing won't solve the problem.

Software should enable the client journey, not determine it.

A funnel generating hundreds of people who will never buy isn't a successful funnel.

If your pipeline depends entirely on whether you remembered to post on LinkedIn this week, you don't have a predictable acquisition system yet.
ENOUGH ABOUT ME
If you've built knowledge, experience and a methodology that genuinely helps people, the next challenge is getting enough of the right people to experience it.
Let's look at where you are today, what you're trying to build and whether a webinar-led client acquisition system is the right next step for your business.
